Level 0 Walkthrough — The Lobby

Also known as: The Lobby · First level every player enters.

TL;DR · Collect ladder parts → repair ladder → grab key → unlock pitfall door → exit to Level 1. Watch for the Bacteria patrol. After ~3 minutes, a Howler may spawn.

How to Escape Level 0

1. Spawn in the endless yellow office maze (yellow wallpaper, damp carpet, fluorescent lights).
2. Locate yourself on the map — find the key room area.
3. Collect all ladder parts scattered in rooms.
4. Repair the ladder, climb it, and grab the key.
5. Head to the pitfalls and unlock the door with the key.
6. Choose Exit or Alt Exit — both lead to Level 1.

There is no traditional door out. You leave by finding a soft wall to no-clip through, or by dropping through a pitfall into a vent.

Entity: Bacteria

• Danger: High — roams and patrols the halls.
• Behavior: Drifts rather than actively hunts, but commits once it spots you.
• Survive: Time your movement around its patrol. Duck into side rooms or vents. Do not sprint in a straight line if spotted.

Sanity Tips

• When sanity dips hard, stand still until it recovers — moving while drained disorients you.
• Keep a flashlight nearby at all times.

Common Mistakes

• Lingering too long — Howler spawns around the 3-minute mark.
• Ignoring the ladder repair step before going for the key.
• Splitting up in co-op before anyone knows the exit route.
